Technology Strategy
AMERICAN SYSTEMS' Technology and IT Strategy Service helps organizations improve IT service, lower costs, and build competitive advantage by implementing innovative application technology. We deliver our services through senior-level experts who align technology with business needs and develop an IT strategy roadmap.

Our technology strategy consultants serve as long-term IT advisors, using the IT strategy roadmap to help organizations successfully plan, build, deploy, operate, and optimize technology solutions that provide a competitive advantage.

Overall, we help plan for IT governance and compliance by establishing well-defined procedures and clear standards for acquiring, integrating, and maintaining IT systems over time. Specifically, our services help promote the following:

  • Competitive advantage through technology innovation—deliver the right services at the right time, strengthening IT as a strategically focused, business-aligned organization.

    • Offer a consistent, cohesive approach to help continually optimize technologies.

The typical technology and IT strategy engagement begins with a discovery phase to develop the vision, plan, and discipline for fully integrating people, processes, and technologies. Over a period of four to eight weeks, senior strategy consultants and architects work on site with business and IT managers across the company to do the following:

  • Gain a rapid understanding of your business goals, concerns, and challenges.
  • Map IT applications, infrastructure, and operations to IT services.
  • Identify the IT services that best support each business goal, evaluate IT's effectiveness at supporting each goal, and develop plans for improvement.
  • Create an IT strategy roadmap that provides the strategic goals, improvement areas, IT services architecture, and applicable technologies to adapt and deliver coordinated, business-aligned IT services across the enterprise organization.
  • Create an IT program plan that lists, describes, and sets priorities for the projects required to realign technologies to business goals according to the IT strategy roadmap.
  • Schedule, budget, and initiate the projects identified in the IT program plan, weighing cost against risk and value.
  • Oversee implementation of the IT program plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide ongoing discovery, as required, to keep IT plans aligned with evolving business and market conditions.
  • Establish conditions of satisfaction (evaluation criteria) and methods for quantifying the benefits of each project undertaken.
  • Provide monthly benefits assurance reports on the technical and financial success of completed projects.
