Note: These instructions are for Dial-up and Microsoft VPN Connection types only.
CAUTION: Before Proceeding, SAVE AND CLOSE ALL OPEN DOCUMENTS. Step 8 under "Installation" will cause your computer to REBOOT WITHOUT A PROMPT.
Installation
- Click on this link to download the file to your local hard drive.
- Click Save and select to save the file to your desktop.
- Double click the file SilentInstall.exe
- Click Unzip.
- Once the file has been extracted, browse to the C:\Temp directory by double clicking on your My Computer Icon on your desktop.
- Double click the C:\ Drive.
- Double click on the Temp folder.
- Double click the silentInstall.bat file. (Reboot without a prompt)
- After the reboot, log in to continue.
Configuration
- Open your network connections:
- Windows XP: Click “Start Menu > Settings > Network Connections”
- Windows 2000: Click “Start Menu > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections”
- Right-click the ASCHQ-VPN (or ASCHQ-703, etc.), select properties
- Click the Security Tab
- Select the ‘Advanced (custom settings)’ option, then click the ‘Advanced” button
- Select the ‘Use Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)’ option
- Use the drop down box to select ‘RSA Security EAP (encryption enabled)’
- Click OK twice to close all of the dialog windows
Log in
- Use your login name, but do not include the domain (ex: use “JDoe” not “ASC\JDoe”)
- The ‘passcode’ is your PIN + Token Code
- If you have more than one connection to the network, you will need to repeat the steps that are After the Reboot for each connection. Please contact the Help Desk for further assistance.
