Industry Veteran to Drive Revenue Growth, Boost CDI Directorate’s Visibility and Reputation
October 15, 2007 – Chantilly, VA – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, an employee-owned government and commercial IT solutions provider, today announced that Michael Schutte has been appointed vice president of the Custom Engineering, Development and Integration (CDI) Directorate in Lorton, Va. Schutte will lead the CDI Directorate in providing custom solutions that specifically respond to requirements across a wide spectrum of commercial and government needs.

The CDI Directorate provides unique software, hardware and systems integration and engineering services. Currently, the Directorate is involved in the development of Radio Frequency (RF) detection, web content development and operation, and engineering and technical support for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Schutte brings more than 20 years of experience in business and engineering intelligence, management and development to CDI. Prior to AMERICAN SYSTEMS, he was president and Co-Founder of Rising Edge Technologies, Inc. Schutte also accumulated nearly ten years of engineering experience working as a Principal Engineer at Communications Systems Technology, Inc. and as a Senior Design Engineer for SWL, Incorporated.
Schutte is a graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree, and of the University of Virginia, where he took coursework toward a master of engineering degree. Schutte began his career at AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 1985 as a Principal Design Engineer and Line Manager.
