Call Center with 96 Percent First Call Resolution Rate, 100 Percent Customer Satisfaction Rate Judged Nation’s Best
May 21, 2007 – Norfolk, VA: AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a provider of systems engineering, technical and outsourcing services, today announced that its U.S. Navy Global Distance Support Center (GDSC) won the 2007 Government Customer Support Excellence Award in the category of Customer Focus Excellence.
“We are extremely pleased and honored by this recognition, as it is a reflection of the high level of service we provide our customers,” said William C. Hoover, president and CEO, AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “Technical, logistical and quality of life support is a major element in ensuring the success of U.S. military mission-critical scenarios. We’re happy to provide AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ top-notch services in support of U.S. military service members and their families.”
AMERICAN SYSTEMS established the GDSC in 1999 under the direction and sponsorship of the Naval Sea Logistics Center to deliver 24x7x365 support to fleet and Navy community users. Today, the GDSC provides the efficient and effective transfer of data and information on questions ranging from technical assistance and logistics to quality of life issues. The GDSC resolves more than 5,000 monthly queries which range widely in subject matter and urgency with a 100 percent customer satisfaction rating and 96 percent first call resolution rate.
The Government Customer Support Excellence Awards, presented on behalf of the Government Customer Support Community of Practice, recognize public sector help desks, contact centers and other types of customer portals at all levels of government. In January, a panel of judges representing all three levels of government and industry selected the GDSC from among forty-six applications as one of ten 2007 award finalists in the Customer Focus category. A similar expert panel of judges scored the finalist entries, from which four winners emerged. All entries were masked and judged on a blind basis. AMERICAN SYSTEMS was honored at the Government Customer Support Conference on May 7, 2007, in Arlington, Va.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS currently manages and operates three government call centers, and provides technical, managerial and logistics support to over 100 government contracts.
