Bill Hoover Cited for Leadership and Contributions to Company, Community, and Industry

November 5, 2009—Chantilly, VA—AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced that its president and CEO, William C. “Bill” Hoover, won the prestigious “Executive of the Year” award at the seventh annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards gala. The awards recognize the innovation, dedication and commitment to excellence of the people and businesses in the region's government contracting community. Bill Hoover was honored in the $75 Million to $300 Million revenue category at the Awards Gala on November 4 in McLean, VA.

“I am honored to receive this award, but recognize that it was made possible only as a result of the strong and consistent performance of the entire AMERICAN SYSTEMS Team,” said Mr. Hoover. “This award recognizes the sustained and positive achievements of the entire Team.”

Mr. Hoover has served as president and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS, one of the largest majority employee-owned professional services firms in the country, since 2005.  Under Mr. Hoover’s stewardship, AMERICAN SYSTEMS has built a strong new business pipeline, kicked off an aggressive merger and acquisition campaign and expanded its corporate citizenship efforts through partnerships with the Wounded Warrior Project, the Semper Fi Fund, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and local school systems. In February of this year, Bill Hoover was also named to the 2009 Federal 100 list.

The Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards are presented in partnership by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology.
