Multiple Year Contract Vehicle Offers Agencies High Level of Flexibility, Streamlined Efficiency for Optimal Mission Support
April 23, 2009 – Chantilly, VA – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a government and commercial IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced that it was awarded a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). Under the indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will compete for task orders to deliver a wide range of IT services and IT services-based solutions to the Department of Defense, civilian agencies and the intelligence community.
“With the federal government’s current focus on transparency, eGovernment, and overall value for money, this contract announcement comes at a perfect time. Now, government procurement officers and program managers can tap industry partners like AMERICAN SYSTEMS for professional IT services through a single contract,” said William C. Hoover, president and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. “We look forward to working with federal customers across government to standardize technologies and create a more unified government-wide IT infrastructure.”
Alliant was created as a centralized source for the federal government to buy integrated IT products and services. The contracts give agencies access to management and technical support services to ensure that they receive the most up-to-date technologies and services while complying with federal regulations and supporting regional and global IT requirements.
The GSA closely aligned the Alliant contract with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) to encourage applying and sharing successful agency business processes and promote efficiency and interoperability within government. The contract, which replaces Answer and Millennia, two older GSA GWACs, has a ceiling value of $50 billion for integrated information technology services and solutions, including infrastructure, applications and IT management.
Alliant has a five-year base performance period and one five-year option period.
